The Inspiration
Created in collaboration with Outkast, Stankonia celebrates Atlanta’s cultural impact and the freedom to make something that stands apart. This coffee is about honoring where we come from while pushing forward, just like the music that inspired it.
In the Cup
Stankonia brings together coffees from Rwanda and Colombia, blending experimental natural and washed processes for balance and depth. In the cup, expect crisp green apple and ripe strawberry sweetness, rounded out by a brown sugar finish. Roasted at a medium level, it’s versatile and shines as drip, pour over, or espresso.
I’ve been an OutKast fanatic since 1994 but I’ve never been a consistent consumer of coffee. That is until I found this coffee. The OutKast packaging is what initially caught my attention. Then the I realized the flavor combination - green apple and brown sugar - was as funky and eclectic as the hip-duo themselves. Finding out the company is black-owned and based in Atlanta was the last bit of motivation I needed to place an order. I ordered 3 bags immediately. 1 for myself and 2 as gifts for my cousins who OutKast as much as I do. I have placed 3 additional orders since then, each time ordering a bag for myself and one to give away. Everyone I’ve gifted a bag of this coffee has loved it as much as I do. The flavor profile is perfect.
You can drink enjoy this coffee black and it’s wonderful but adding a little really brings the brown sugar and apple flavor to life.
This coffee has become part of my daily routine: rise at 530am, go for a run/walk, water, then coffee and breakfast while I sit on the back patio listening to the sounds of nature.
